A Halloween Filled Weekend

I just want to start out saying how blessed I am. I thank God so much for surrounding me with so many children. Some are mine, some are not...but hey, more the merry! I love halloween time. Last weekend was my 1st weekend off work in a long time. I had 10 kids spend the night here and one of my best friends. It was a blast. Saturday we went to the pumpkin patch and Saturday night I took the kids that were NOT afraid to the haunted houses! That was so much fun...poor Christy was so scared. Kos was a trooper..there were a few houses or trails he could not bring his wheel chair and he went on his hands...I gave him my mittens (pink) to keep his hands clean. Then on Sunday we all went to "Boo in the Zoo" to trick or treat. So here are some pictures of our Halloween Filled Weekend...

You know your in love if.......

Kos and Kerry celebrate every month together. Today was their 7 month (it sure seems longer)!! As I watched them from afar, celebrate their day, I thought about how blessed I am. I raised this beautiful little dark hair sassy girl into a young women who has made great choices. For example...KOS!!!!!
So you know your in love if...
1. you go to Jack in the Box for an anniversary dinner (drive thru!)
2. you hang out with your girlfriends mom
3. you scrap book with your girlfriend
4. you watch "The Notebook" with you girlfriend..over and over
I am very blessed to be able to watch my daughter grow up and start to live her own life. I know one day she will move on (out) and really start her own life. I thank God everyday I am apart of her life ( and now Kos's). My prayer is that they will be truely happy together...so far they are.

The Blues...

Hey everyone! Long time-no blog! Things are going well here in Kos and Kerry land. I havent blogged in a long time because I started a new job. Also, Kerry and Kos have just been hanging out... no real exciting news.

I do want to say that my heart was so broken the other night. Kos is a young man that has alot of confidence in himself. He knows that he has lost his legs, but I guess at times even the strongest people get the blues. He lives in downtown, so he can just use his wheelchair and ride to any resturant he wants. He decided to go to a resturant by himself to get dinner. He said when he was eating...everyone was starring at him. Kos said that it just hit him...that he is different. He said he put his food down and left. Kos emailed Kerry and said "why do I have to look like this?" When Kerry told me that...my heart broke. I wanted to scream off the mountains... "Kos is AWESOME...just the way he is." I love this kid. He has had a lifetime of experiences in such a short time. It is his turn to just live and be happy. To become a man, have fun and love life and to be loved.

Kos is very loved. I know people may think he is lucky to have Kerry, but Kerry knows how lucky she is to have found such an amazing love in him. The two of them truely love each other. It is beautiful to watch their relationship grow. Every mother wants their children to grow and find a true love. I thank God Kerry has.

I had a talk with Kos and reminded him that if that horrible accident had never taken his legs, he wouldnt have come to the USA and found a family...and meet Kerry. He agreed!
